Reflection: Use of Technology with Students
Over the past four weeks, I have used the iPod Voice Memos application for reading fluency instruction with three fifth-grade students daily. The fluency lessons include: Individual students setting fluency goals every two weeks, teacher and student use of a fluency rubric to critique reading quality, teacher gives students feedback on their progress toward individual goals, individual students graph three reads daily after they record and listen to how their reading sounds.

8:00 - 12:00 PM
Today we learned how to create Wikis and discussed ways to use them with students. Wikis are a great way to communicate with students when teachers require a response from students. Wikis can be used to create a project, for daily work such as retelling a story and for students to share thoughts about books they are reading. We also created an account and profile page for our new district website, "School Fusion".

Members of the tech PDP began by reading an article on digital citizenship and discussing how to use the information at BHE. Marcia shared a couple of websites: Story Bird and Wordles. This was followed by an electronic books workshop at the high school.
